The Old is New Again in Fashion

In the 20th Century it seemed that each decade had a specific style.  That is until the end of the 1990′s.  After this style seemed to be whatever an individual wanted. Now we are seeing a revival of the later decades in fashion.  Particularly the 1960′s and the 1980′s seem to be a focus, whether consciously or unconsciously by the trendsetters.

If you look at the current makeup trends a lot of the heavy styling seen in the 1980′s seems to be returning. Granted it is unlikely that anyone will go to the extreme that was seen in the 1980′s, but the brighter colors and the thick smokey applications are on a comeback. The great thing about the 1960′s through the 1980′s was the fun people had with fashion. Colors were loud and not always sensible, but they were fun and unique.

In today’s society there seems to be a longing for the past.  Times were more simple, gas was not costing you almost as much as your mortgage, and it was easier to just go out and have fun. Now it is not so easy for most, but we still long for that feeling. Maybe we cannot go out and do the same things we used to do, but it is possible to get back our look and our attitude from those eras. So it seems that the fashion world may be picking up on this desire to reach back to our youth and re-experience the style and unique trends of the last few decades of the 20th Century. Hopefully so, a little love, peace and attitude change would be very refreshing.
